Locum Tenens
Strategic Sale
Positioning a focused staffing business around the quality of its underlying economics.
// THE SITUATION
The company had built a profitable locum tenens business around a relatively concentrated group of hospital relationships. Its size and customer concentration could easily dominate a buyer’s first impression, despite the quality of the underlying business.
// THE CHALLENGE
The strategic story needed to distinguish concentration risk from the strength of the customer relationships themselves. The business benefited from direct contracts, recurring demand, established client relationships, and an attractive operating model, but those attributes needed to be made central to the buyer narrative.
// OUR ROLE
Realize framed the business around the durability of its direct hospital relationships, recurring staffing demand, earnings quality, and strategic fit for potential acquirers. The objective was to make clear why the company’s focused model could be an asset rather than simply a limitation.
// WHERE IT LED
The work produced a stronger positioning narrative and a more targeted approach to identifying buyers for whom the company’s customer base, operating model, and market focus would be strategically relevant.
